Another scene from one of my guilty pleasure movies, Truck Turner. I would have loved to been on the set the day they shot this scene:

Issac, you and your girl are going to walk into your place, she’s hungry and you’re a nice guy so you stop by KFC and gets her a two piece and a bisquit.

So you walk in and you watch as your lady friends pets your cat, Scrambles (played by Morris The Cat, who didn’t behave like a ass like those rumors of his diva attitudes on the set of his 9 Lives commercials).

Then you go sit down by your boo (sorry, that term wont be invented until 1994, forget I said that, kay?) your…laday as she starts eating on a chicken leg. You watch lovingly as your lady friend sexy eats the chicken off the leg (no we won’t have her suck the bone, that’s going way over the top).

The scent of Jean Nate, Afro Sheen, her chicken grease glazed lips and 11 herbs and spices is too much for you, so you, smoothly, take the chicken leg from your lady and proceed to do that voodoo that you do so well and then we will close in on Scrambles as he contemplates watching you two do it or to go after that chicken leg…

anddddddd end scene!

Goodness. The only reason Issac didn’t stab somebody in the neck, they played one of his songs in the background.

True Story Time. I was working part-time at a Wherehouse Records in Phoenix, when this album came out and I played it to death, especially this track.

So Brian McKnight did an in-store appearance at our store and the manager introduced to me and told him that I really liked his album. As McKnight shakes my hand, he asks me, “what’s your favorite song”? Without hesitation and wayyyyy too full of excitement, I say, “Love Me, Hold Me!”

I’m still shaking McKnight’s hand as I sound like a teen-aged girl and he gives me the side eye and we both look down at our hands…

that went from regular handshake to fantastically awkward in like two seconds. We unclenched hands and I did what any macho dude would do at that moment…I asked for his autograph…
